Android: Eclipse and Emulator link broken

Watching the Marakana Android Bootcamp 2012 videos and noticed a handy fix to something I’ve experienced quite a bit. There are times when Eclipse loses connection and doesn’t realize that there’s an Emulator already running and then tries to start a new Emulator.

It’s a known bug and a pretty simple fix. You just need to restart adb. In a command shell type:

adb kill-server

adb start-server

That’s it.

You can use:

adb devices

to check if the emulator is connected.
